the linnet bird

model: shannon
makeup: marie
designer: alicia doust designs

so on wednesday night i was booked for a last minute shoot the following morning for alicia's amazing designs. dan and i woke up at six am and drove down to coogee beach where all was cloudy and rainy, but beautifully blue for the shoot. hair & makeup was ready by the time we got there, so from there we spent a couple of hours walking through the rocks & the rock pool shooting against the waves crashing up against the shore of jagged edges. i couldn't be more happy with the results from this shoot which literally happened overnight (as well as all the editing)!

  4. loving this.

I have such a hard time capturing strong make up and bone structure in a photoshoot with Black and White photos but u seem to do it effortlessly, any pointers?

And what tips do u have for a new photographer who doesn't know how to market themselves?

    Love from canada ;)

  12. thank you soooo much everyone, you're all wonderful!

thd: just blog a lot, put your work out there, comment on other people's work, make contacts! it takes so much effort but is very worth it in the end.

justine: for the more pink toned images & the black and white ones, i used my curves contrast base, but otherwise these are all edited in camera raw as most of my photos usually are. i think i may start stating when i'm using my curves though, because every once in a while i do have some in my photo series!

dori: i used my baby 85mm f1.2 that i use the majority of the time nowadays!

naomi, that's so good to know about the curves! its the exact thing i want to hear back from everyone who uses them hehe :)
